MAY  22, 2025

Topic:  “THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB OF GOD

Text: John 1:28-30

Memory Verse: “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” – John 1:28.

In the Bible, the blood of the Lamb is a powerful symbol of redemption, forgiveness and salvation. In our text for today, John the Baptist declares, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:28). The verse introduces Jesus as the Lamb of God, who would sacrifice Himself to atone for the sins of humanity.

In Revelation 5:6-14, Jesus Christ is seen as the Lamb of God, standing before the throne of God, surrounded by the four living creatures and the 24 elders. The Lamb is worshipped and adored by all the heavens, and His blood is celebrated as the means of redemption for all people.

The blood of the Lamb represents several key truths: first, redemption. The blood of the Lamb redeems us from sin and its consequences. Second, forgiveness: the blood of the Lamb cleanses us of all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7-9). Third, salvation: the blood of the Lamb of God saves from the wrath of God and grants us eternal life (Romans 5:8-9).

As believers in Christ, we have been redeemed, forgiven, and saved by the blood of the Lamb. We are called to live out this truth in our daily lives by worshipping and adoring the Lamb of God, proclaiming the message of redemption and forgiveness to others, and living a life of gratitude and obedience to God.

PRAYER: Heavenly father, thank you for the blood of the Lamb which redeems, forgives, and saves us. Help us to live out the truth of the blood of the Lamb in our daily lives in Jesus’ name, Amen.
