Topic: “GOD’S THOUGHTS, OUR PROSPERITY: HE DOES NOT FORGET (2)“
Text: Isaiah 49:5-15
Memory Verse: “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!” Isaiah 49:15.
Hear this reassuring and unequivocal statement, “I will not forget you”. Dear reader, this is God’s word to you today. He has not forgotten and will never forget you. The Lord spoke to Isaiah in our text for today, to remind him of God’s divine provision to fulfil the divine assignment. “In the time of my favour, I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances” (v.8).
This is to fulfil the thoughts and plans that God had for Isaiah even before he was born. There is also a divine purpose and agenda attached to your destiny and the time to fulfil it has come. You look up and say, your life right now does not look like any divinely usable material. The challenges that you have gone through make you doubt whether God is still with you. Isaiah probably felt that way as he was “despised and abhorred by the nation”, yet the Lord said to him: “Kings will see you and stand up, princes will see and bow down, because of the Lord, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you” (v.7)
You are also chosen by God for his purpose and the time to fulfill it is now.
PRAYER: Who am I, that you are mindful of me? Let it be unto me according to your word in Jesus’ name, Amen.
