Topic: “GOD’S THOUGHTS: OUR PROSPERITY – DESTINED TO PROSPER“
Text: Romans 8:26-37
Memory Verse: “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name, the Father will give you” John 15:16.
As we conclude this theme on God’s thoughts, our prosperity, it is important for us to go back to the beginning. His thoughts for us, which is made manifest in His word to us. It was in His plan all along because He chose you, sharpened you and prepared you for His divine assignment. We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
When we discover and reconnect to His purpose, we also discover the wonderful truth that there is a blank cheque attached to the assignment, to cover all we require to deliver on the assignment. Our memory verse reminds us that He chose us and ordained us to prosper and bear fruit. The icing on this cake is that while you are busy bearing fruit, you can draw on the cheque for your provision and it is already pre-signed by the Father, “so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you”.
There is no limit to draw on this cheque because it is fully underwritten by blood. “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich (2 Cor.8:9).
Go and prosper.
PRAYER: O Lord, thank you as I go forth today in your name to prosper and bear fruit that will endure in Jesus’ name, Amen.
