Topic: “PEACE WITHIN THE FAMILY“
Text: Psalm: 133:1-3
Memory Verse: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15:13.
A functional and orderly society is a product of peaceful families with good virtues. Families being the foundation of every human organisation or society determine the overall outlook of any organisation or society.
Family life can be chaotic, but peace is possible when love, patience, and understanding are prioritized. By choosing to put others first, listening actively, and showing empathy, we create a harmonious home environment.
More often than not, we seem to take our family members for granted; this becomes more visible from the way we interact and relate with each other in a family setting. We are less tolerant with one another, issues we could joke over with outsiders, is most times taken to the extreme, and at the end, minor issues end up in major conflicts.
However, today’s topic is calling our attention to the need to show more love to family members especially during challenging times (1 Cor: 13: 4). We are equally enjoined to be more patient in relating with family members at all times. (Eph: 4:2).
Finally, we need to communicate effectively, be active listeners to each other within the family. (James 1:19).
PRAYER: Lord, bring peace to my family. Help me to be patient, loving, and understanding. Fill our home with joy, harmony, and Your presence, Amen.
