Topic: “REVELATION OF GOD’S MIND: GUARANTEE FOR PEACE“
Text: kings 6:8-12
Memory Verse: “”For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11.
When we grasp God’s thoughts and plans, peace ensues. His plans are good, filled with hope and promise. As we align our minds with His, worries fade, and peace abounds.
Today’s text shows how Elisha through revelation was able to save the king of Israel from the hands of his enemy the King of Syria. The Lord revealed to him the strategies against Israel, which the Syrian King had discussed with his servants in private.
This revelation saved the life of the king of Israel, thus giving him peace while the king who was on the offensive became troubled and frustrated. He suspected the plans leaked through his servants, but one of them who knew the capacity of Elisha told him, that it was the handiwork of Elisha and not any of his servants.
In the absence of divine revelation, the king of Israel would have been in trouble. For anyone to know the mind of God, intimacy with Him is not negotiable. It is in the place of intimacy that we seek wisdom from Him concerning every and any issue of life (James 1:5).
Secondly, it also a place you look to for models in Scripture to grasp God’s thoughts. Psalm (119:15).
PRAYER: Lord, reveal Your mind to me. Help me trust Your plans and find peace in Your presence. Fill me with hope and confidence in Your goodness, Amen.
