Topic: “HOW TO BE GRATEFUL – APPRECIATE OTHERS”

Text: 1 THESSALONIANS 5:12-15

Memory Verse: ““And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves” – 1 Thessalonians 5:13.

Chorus: What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer!

God uses others to bless us at different periods of our lives. It may be directly by providing for an area of our needs or indirectly by helping us to avoid dangers or risks that could have resulted in failures. In either case, we should learn to be grateful and appreciate their contributions to our lives.

Learn to say, “Thank You”. Please verbalize your gratitude whether it is for small or big favors or small acts of kindness. You can also write notes of appreciation or in these days of social media, share such acts of kindness for others to know and possibly appreciate or value them.

Today’s scriptures encourage us to esteem highly those who have invested much in our lives due to their work. Such may be Pastors, Church leaders, Spouses etc. who have gone extra lengths to meet our spiritual or physical needs. Give them special recognition, as it will encourage them to continue to offer their service to you and to others.

Spare some time now to identify those who labor among you or who provide leadership and vision that have contributed to your spiritual growth. Pray for them and send kind words to appreciate their contributions to your life.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to appreciate the contributions of others to my life, no matter how small or big or the social class of the giver, Amen.
