Topic: “GOD’S THOUGHT IS ALWAYS GOOD“
Text: Romans 8:27-30
Memory Verse: “And we know that in all things God works for good of those who loved Him, who have been called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28.
God is not distant or indifferent to our challenges and problems, even before we were formed in our mothers’ wombs, He knew each person individually and thinks about our lives with care and great passion. In Psalm 139:17, David says, “How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them”. God’s thoughts towards us are not only numerous but also good and kind. What may seem like delay or detour to us is often divine preparation. God’s thoughts include purpose in every step, even in pain, Apostle Paul assures us that God works all things for our good.
Romans 8:28 also reminds us that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose, not in isolation, but in collaboration with believers, shaping circumstances into spiritual growth and alignment with God’s purposes and time. This communicates a divine-human partnership. As you pray and cooperate with love and purpose, God will work with you in bringing everything together for good, even prayers in difficult moments. “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” – James 5:16.
The truth is that God’s thoughts and plans are not distant, but personal and ultimately designed for our advantage, even when we do not see it in the moment. Joseph told his brothers in Genesis 50:20, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives”. “They meant evil against him, but God meant it for good for him. I do not know what negative situation(s) you are going through right now, as you pray, believe God will turn that situation for good for you and you shall testify of the goodness of God in the land of the Living.
Even when life is uncertain, you can trust that God is thinking good things about you and working them out in His perfect time.
PRAYER: O Lord, I know you are good and all your thoughts towards me are for my good. Give me grace to align my thought with yours, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
