OCTOBER 08: “GOD’S THOUGHTS – OUR VICTORY”

OCTOBER  08, 2025

Topic:  “GOD’S THOUGHTS – OUR VICTORY“

Text: 1 Corinthians 2:9-16.

Memory Verse: “For, who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ” – 1 Corinthians 2:16.

The Spirit leads us into truth and victory for those who have the mind of Christ. As believers in Christ, we are not left to think like the world. We have access to the mind of Christ, His thoughts, wisdom, discernment, and power. That is why we can face trials, decisions, and even enemies with divine insight. Part of today’s text says that what we received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. The advantage of this is that the person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to mere human judgments.

Brothers and Sisters, we are at war with the enemy – Satan and his cohorts, but be reminded that we are fighting from the point of victory because that is the thought and finished plan of God for us. We do not fight satan for victory, we fight him from victory. This is a fundamental truth rooted in what Jesus accomplished through His death and resurrection.

“Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it”- Colossians 2:15. Jesus defeated Satan at the cross. His resurrection sealed our victory over sin, death, and the powers of darkness. We stand on the finished work of Jesus Christ.

We are not striving from below, we are seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above all demonic powers. This is our legal and spiritual position. Just like a police officer enforces the law, we enforce the victory of Jesus. We resist satan, not because we are hoping to win, but because he is already defeated. “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” –  James 4:7. The battle is spiritual, but our weapons are mighty through God. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.” – 2 Corinthians 10:4.

Victory is accessed and sustained by faith and prayer, not feelings or effort. We believe in what Christ has done. So, fight boldly, not in fear or doubt, but in the power of His finished victory.

PRAYER:  O God my Father, thank you for winning the victory for me at the cross, help me to walk every day in that victory, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
