Topic: Experiencing the fullness of God through knowing your Capability
Text: Ephesians 1:18-19a
Memory Verse: Ephesians 1:19 “I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know … his incomparably great power for us who believe.”
Power is the ability, “might, strength, force, or capability” given by God to believers. Luke said in Acts 1: 8 that “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.” The power is God’s investment of Himself in us, so we can carry out the task He has given to us. The power was given for ministry and for manifesting the fullness of God to a dying world. So that as Lazarus was raised from the dead, they can also come back alive to God.
Laying hold of this power today is a function of our faith. It is a function of seeing the truth in our hearts and then acting upon it. That is why Paul is praying diligently that the eyeballs of your heart may be opened, that your blindness be cured and that your faith be broadened.
As you step out today, be aware of the power of God that is available for you, to receive grace, to reach out to lift the helpless out of their pit. In the past, we have lived far below our hope, our inheritance, and our power. But we need to live there no longer. God is opening our eyes and stirring up our faith. “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him — but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 2:9-10)
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for the power available to us. Help us to access this power so we can reach out and also receive the blessing that you have prepared for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
