Topic: The Benefits of the Fullness of God: Intelligence
Text: Ephesian 1: 15-18 Message translation
Memory Verse: Ephesian 1: 18- “to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally…”
As believers, when we enter into a covenant relationship with God, it comes with a benefit. That is why Genesis 12: 2 says, “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you…” The fullness of God that He invests in us, did not come only with a bonding relationship, it came with a released blessing dating back to the time of Adam and Eve in the garden in Genesis 1:28. It says, “God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
The first benefit of the fullness of God in us is what Paul mentions in our text today, “to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally…” (Msg) Intelligence is the ability bestowed by God on a person that makes him stand out. As learners, Psalms 119:99 says I am wiser than all my teachers because I think about your rules. Also in Daniel 1:20, speaking about the Hebrew boys in Babylon, the Bible says “ In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.” The source of true intelligence is God.
Today, do you want to stand out? You have to tap into the fullness of God; it is from Him and through Him that we become intelligent. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” No matter the challenges you are facing in your learning activities, the Lord is ready to release grace into your life. He is the source and sustainer of intelligence.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you because in you we have all that we need for life and for living today. We ask for a fresh release of your grace of wisdom into our lives so that we can be outstanding in all we do in Jesus’ name. Amen.
