Topic: “KEEP THE INNER FIRE BURNING, ENDURING HARDSHIP AS SOLDIERS OF CHRIST, NOT BEING ENTANGLED WITH AFFAIRS OF LIFE“

Never lag in zeal. Go back to your first love, make straight the crooked paths.
Most of us start our spiritual walk with fervent passion for the Lord. We are so grateful to be delivered from hell and headed toward heaven, that we are aglow with love for God.
However, as time passes, the fire within us can begin to dim. We can get busy with other things and begin to lose our interest in Him. It happens to many of us a few years after being saved. Sometimes you hardly notice it until you have an encounter with the Spirit of God and with a heart of humility have a change of heart. A Christian couple had an experience of loss of zeal, until a Minister gave a message on the end time army of God. He said “Rise up and be on fire for Christ and you can be part of that army” As the days went by, it dawned on the Christian couple that they had lost their zeal and they were not as passionate as they once were.
It was not sin, it was not doing anything bad; it was just being distracted with the natural things of life. God had answered their prayers about material provisions, they were now comfortable, they have started prospering, the desperation of seeking the face of God was no longer there and some of the inner fire had faded. This happened some years ago with the boom in the banking industry and Stock broking industry. Suddenly, there was a crash in the finance industry, this forced people to start seeking God.
On hearing the message about the end time army, there was a decision to change. Things improved in their fellowship with God; they started having regular study of the bible and reading inspiring books that the Spirit of God led them to. They were watching their inner fire, their responses to the things of God.
If you want to be part of the end time army, make up your mind. It is not for believers who are mildly interested in the things of God, you will need extra time to pursue the things of God. It is not going to be composed of Christians who have let their affections be drawn away from the Lord and have fallen in love with the things of this world.
PRAYER: Prat that you will always have extra oil in your lamp like the 5 wise virgins. Go the extra mile
