Topic: The Blessing of Experiencing the Fullness
Text: Romans 15: 1-29
Memory Verse: Romans 15: 29 “I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.”
Blessing is one thing we all seek in life. Our definition or understanding of blessing differs, but it is one thing that everyone seeks. That is why we do some of the things we do such as going to school, working and working late, and making efforts at doing so many things so we can access certain blessings of life. Oftentimes we forget that right from the beginning, God had already pronounced His blessings on us. In Genesis 1:28, “God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
The fullness of God that was invested in man came with a blessing conferred on us. The blessing here is the highest good, only given to humanity. We therefore did not need to struggle for it as it was conferred on us. Then in Genesis 3, man lost this blessing because of sin. That is why today, we are seeking it by all means.
Paul said to the Roman brethren, “I know that when I come to you, I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.” It suggests to us that because he was in Christ, he has become a carrier of the blessing and whomever he releases it on will also become blessed. Whatever is going on in your life today, seek Christ, for it is through Him that the blessings are released upon us.
As you step out today, would you be a blessing to people around you, would you be a channel through which men would experience again the fullness of God’s blessing? Through your words, your work and worship, may men receive again the fullness of God’s blessing.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for you are the giver of blessings. As we have received these blessings, help us to be channels of blessing, so that the fullness of Christ will be shared with others in Jesus’ name, amen.
