SEPTEMBER 25: “FIGHTING THE RIGHT WAY”

DATE: Friday 25  September  2026

TOPIC:  “FIGHTING THE RIGHT WAY”

TEXT: 2 Corinthians 10:3–5

MEMORY VERSE:  “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds” – 2 Corinthians 10: 4 (NIV).

This passage starts with a simple but important truth: we live in the world. That means we are not exempt from life’s realities. The pressures, temptations and struggles we face, greed, jealousy, lust, fear, are not unique to us. Everyone encounters them, believers and unbelievers alike but, the difference lies in how we fight.

Scripture makes it clear that we do not wage war the way the world does. We do not rely on human strength, manipulation, or worldly systems to overcome life’s battles. Instead, we are given something far greater.

We fight with the Word of God, which exposes and refutes every lie. We fight with prayer, which connects us directly to God’s power; and we are guided by the Holy Spirit, who leads us in truth and alignment with God’s will.

These weapons are not weak. They carry divine power, power strong enough to demolish strongholds. That means we are not just dealing with surface-level issues. We are confronting deep-rooted patterns, lies and mindsets that try to take hold of our lives.

Scripture goes further to say that we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself against the knowledge of God. This is important because not everything that appears right is truly from God. Some things look convincing, even logical, but they are false at their core.

If you are not rooted in God’s Word, it becomes difficult to recognize what is true and what is not.

So, what do we do? We take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. When a thought does not align with God’s truth, we do not entertain it. We confront it. We reject it. We bring it under the authority of Christ. The question is, are you using the right weapons?

PRAYER: Lord, help me to fight my battles with the weapons You have given me. Teach me to recognize what is not from You and to bring every thought into obedience to Christ, Amen.
