APRIL 3: JESUS CHRIST: THE SOURCE OF GRACE AND TRUTH

APRIL 3, 2024

Topic: JESUS CHRIST: THE SOURCE OF GRACE AND TRUTH

Text: JOHN 1:10-18

Memory Verse: John 1:12 – “But as many as received him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”.

Grace has been defined as the unmerited favor of God given to those who accept His offer of Salvation. Someone also gave GRACE an acronym: “God’s Riches At Christ Expense”. It is the riches and the favour of God in Christ Jesus. This means that God was favorably disposed to the generation of man and gave us the richest gift ever and that gift is packaged in the person of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In our text today, we see that all of the blessings we shall ever possess in this new life will be accessed by the fullness of God’s grace in Christ Jesus. In the Old Testament, the law, which was given through Moses, served as the basis of their relationship with God and one another. However, the law was defective in that it could not make anyone right before God. It was for this reason that God sent His only begotten son so that the generation of man can access grace and truth through Him. This grace therefore is the basis for our acceptance before God and the basis for accessing all the blessings of God. Paul renders it to the Ephesian Church thus, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” Ephesians 1:3.

Beloved, have you received this grace of the Lord Jesus Christ? If not, I want to encourage you this day to receive it because it is the basis for all you will be ever become and have access to in this new life. Repent of your sins, believe in your heart and confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour with your mouth.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, you are my Lord and Saviour. I receive your free offer of grace joyfully. May I never receive it in vain in Jesus name, Amen.
