APRIL 5: GROWING IN GRACE

Growing in grace means learning to love and enjoy your transformation into Christ’s likeness, becoming more and more like Him every day and then transmitting His Grace to those around you. To grow in grace also implies growing in favor with God as we see in the life of our Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 2:52).

It is God’s desire for every believer to grow in grace and in the knowledge of God. In out text today, Peter enjoins believers to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Christ Jesus. This is very sacrosanct for us as believers. In addition, Brother Paul when writing to the Church at Philippi did not mince word to let them know what his primary concern and pursuit was which was for them to “know Him and the power of His resurrection”. Philip 3:10. Apostle Paul implied that his primary priority in life was to know Him.

Beloved, it must be stated without any form of equivocation that to grow in grace and in the knowledge of God is fundamental for any believer who wants to fulfill the purpose of God for his generation. Those who made marks on the sands of time were men who knew their God. Daniel said, “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits”. Daniel 11:32. Exploit in life’s endeavor is the exclusive reserve of those who know their God.

If I may ask you, how is your relationship with God? Are you growing daily, or have you stopped growing? I want to counsel you today to go back to the secret place and start a growing relationship with God because you cannot go far without a personal, intimate and progressive relationship with God.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive grace for grace. Deliver me from anything that may want to hinder my growth in Grace in Jesus’ name
