Topic: MAKE ROOM FOR GOD: LIFT UP YOUR HEADS III
Text: Reading: PSALM 24: 7-10
Memory Verse: Luke 21: 28. “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh!”
The innate disposition in defeat or despondency is to look down “heads bowed” The corollary in victory and triumph is “heads-up” and a cheerful feeling. The latter is the way God created mankind to be, in joy!
The Psalmist invites us to come away from defeat and despondency, but the continuous battles of life, struggling, defeat and being overwhelmed, swarmed and overcome, is the way the world is rigged since the realms of Satan and his cohorts still hold sway for now on earth! Remember also that he has been around on earth for so long and is wiser and more powerful than mere men. In our human strength and knowledge, we cannot defeat him!
The Psalmist however invites us to a victorious living even as humans. His invitation is based on the assurances of Him who has overcome the world and its system. In lifting up of the heads, we are invited to the one who has the keys of heaven and wishes to give it to whoever comes. He gives with an additional power that allows you to bind on earth and it becomes bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth, becomes loosed in heaven! Mat 16:19. To lift up the head is an invitation to Him who has conquered and of whom was declared in Rev 11:15b -The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever! The invitation is to the One revealed in Mat 14:27 – But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying Be of good cheer; It is I; be not afraid!
The invitation is to ‘make room for God’ in our circumstances as we travel this world that we may be numbered amongst the victorious, who walk and work in victory through Christ. Is there defeat? Is there a feeling of being overwhelmed and beclouded by circumstances of life? Is there paralysis of any kind and stagnation that seemingly has not responded to all your efforts? Make room for the Lord and see. Stand back for He who has overcome will resolve all and you would not have to be despondent again! He will give you the Key and authority!
PRAYERS:
Father, I invite you into my situation again today. Do what no man can do. Fight for me and redeem me from the rule of Satan! In Jesus matchless name I pray! Amen.
