Topic: “OUTCOMES OF INTIMACY IN THE CHURCH – AUTHENTIC WORSHIP“
Text: John 4: 23-24
Memory Verse: Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. Colossians 3:16
Authentic means the quality of being real or genuine or true, not false or copied. Worship can be said to be the act of honouring and reverencing God as the ultimate authority and source of all good things.
The word “worship” comes from “worthship”. It is when we give our deepest affection and highest praise to something. True worship of God is when we love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, as instructed in Deuteronomy 6: 4-5. God is seeking a true worshipper who will bring Him glory.
Authentic worship can only be one of the outcomes of intimacy in the Church when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable by setting aside our differences and embracing the true worship of God, which allows the free flow of God’s move in our lives as individuals and in our midst when we have our corporate gathering.
Being authentic is a daily practice of letting go of who we think we are supposed to be and embracing who we are in Christ Jesus. True worship flows from a heart that is deeply devoted to God.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me to offer worship that is pleasing to you. So, stir our hearts to offer you our true worship through Christ Jesus, we pray, Amen.
