Topic: “OUTCOMES OF INTIMACY IN THE CHURCH – IMPORTANCE OF SPIRITUAL GIFTS “
Text: Ephesians 4:1-13
Memory Verse: But in fact, God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body. 1 Corinthians 12:18-20
Further to yesterday’s segment, there is a need for us to understand the importance of our Spiritual giftings, which will lead to a deeper understanding of the Holy Spirit’s leading and a more impactful ministry. As written in one of the earlier segments, when individuals cultivate a close relationship with God, they are better equipped to recognize and utilize their gifts for the edification of the body of Christ.
Furthermore, building relationships within the Church creates a supportive environment where spiritual gifts can be nurtured and exercised effectively.
The importance of Spiritual Gifts is as follows;
- Edification and Growth of the Church – When individuals use their spiritual gifts with intimacy in mind, it leads to the edification and growth of the Church. Spiritual gifts are meant to build up the body of Christ, and intimacy fosters a shared sense of purpose and unity in serving God and others.
- Glorifying God – Spiritual Gifts are not for personal gain, but to demonstrate God’s glory and power to others, which leads to repentance and salvation.
- Showing God’s Love – They reveal God’s love and life to the world through the actions and words of believers who are united in Christ Jesus.
- Comfort – They provide solace and foster a sense of belonging and mutual respect, strengthening the bonds between believers.
- Promoting Unity – By acknowledging and valuing the different gifts within the Church, believers can learn to work together and support one another, creating a strong and unified community.
PRAYER: Dear Father, you have placed us among your people to be part of your workforce in edifying your Church. Help us to fulfill our roles in Jesus’ mighty name I pray, Amen
