FEBRUARY 2: THE WONDERS OF HIS PRESENCE

Topic: THE WONDERS OF HIS PRESENCE

Text: : Psalm 114:4-7

Memory Verse: “Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob” – Ps 114:7

The greatest signs and wonders that would ever happen in a believer’s life will emanate from and by God’s presence. When a believer carries the abiding presence of God, s/he has become a sign and wonder to and for his generation. Those who made marks on the sand of their times did so by His presence.

The Children of Israel are our classic example in our text for today. When they left Egypt, the land of slavery, Moses insisted on God’s presence going with them. He decided never to proceed on the journey to the Promised Land without the abiding presence of God. God obliged and journeyed with them. The bible affirms that He was with them as the pillar of cloud by the day and the pillar of fire by the night. The resultant effect was that: the Red Sea was divided to create a footpath for them, the Jordan River receded, the mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. Rocks produced water for them, they were fed with manna, they ate meat and even their clothes and shoes did not wear out for forty years. Consequently, they became a terror to every nation and a formidable force against their enemies all because God was with them as a mighty man in battle.

The wonders of carrying God’s presence cannot be exhausted. Every man who became a wonder to and for his generation did it by the accompaniment of divine presence. The easiest way for a believer to be stranded, impoverished and frustrated is to live a life void of God’s presence. Friend, God’s presence is an invaluable and inexhaustible asset for every man who does not only want to experience God’s wonders, but who also wants to become a wonder to and for His generation. By virtue of creation, you are fearfully and wonderfully made and by virtue of redemption, you are a walking wonder. The bible says, “Christ in you is the hope of glory” (Col.1:26). May you receive the grace always to carry His presence in Jesus name, Amen.

Prayer: Jesus, help me to make your presence my ultimate PURSUIT throughout my journey on earth.
