Topic: BECOMING A CARRIER OF GOD’S PRESENCE
Text: Psalm 114: 2
Memory Verse: “Judah became God’s sanctuary, Israel his dominion.” Psalm 114: 2
In the Old Testament, God appeared to His children in different forms. There were times He came as fire, cloud, wind and through angels. The Ark of God symbolized His presence too in the old dispensation. The Israelites accessed God through a Priest at tabernacles. The death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ brought a shift in relating with God. Worship was no longer limited to going to tabernacles. The limitation placed on priesthood was lifted as every Christian now has access to God.
In the new dispensation, we have the third Person of the Trinity which is the Holy Spirit in us. Invariably, we carry God’s presence anywhere we are. His presence is with us every inch of the way leading and providing directions. The bible says that our bodies are the temple of God. We need not go to a particular place ritualistically before we can worship God as He resides on the inside of us and manifests His power through us.
Communication with God is simplified because He has taken residence in us. We can pray through the Holy Spirit any time anywhere and receive messages or revelations about things yet to happen. We are drawn closer to God as we commune with Him.
His presence we carry makes way for us; we find favour in the sight of men. As we come in contact with, people the presence of God speaks for us. Have you ever wondered why people volunteer to help you or why you receive unsolicited help? It is God at work. Help or success that is remotely not possible is made possible because of His presence.
What of peace in the midst of uncertainties and trials? Only those who carry His presence in such situations are not overwhelmed. What makes unbelievers to lose sleep is an opportunity for believers to increase their faith in God and deepen their relationship with Him. Beloved, it is very sweet to carry God’s presence. Every believer should be a carrier of His presence in order to live righteously here on earth.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to walk in your light and not do anything that will make you withdraw your presence from me in Jesus name I pray.
