Topic: Benefits of God’s Presence – FAITH
Text: Reading: Hebrew 11:6
Memory Verse: “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 NIV
Faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something, a strong belief in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual conviction rather than proof. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Going further, we can see that the people of old as mentioned in Hebrews 11 (Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Jacob Isaac, Gideon, Sarah etc.) walked with God in faith even when what they believed did not appear to be in view.
Faith can only come from a new heart, regenerated by God; therefore, faith is a gift from God. It is the unique way that God uses to bring salvation to His people. We strengthen our faith by reading the Bible, hearing the gospel, listening to other people’s testimonies, praying etc. The more we immerse ourselves in truth, the more our confidence grows. Faith is the ability to believe that God is who He says He is, trusting Him in all things for all things and it also helps to combat unbelief and motivates us to do what God desires us to do.
As we continue to dwell in God’s presence, our faith increases day by day because we get to know Him better and He reveals the great things He prepared for the lives of those who are His, even though these things are hidden from our eyes, ears, and mind. “However, as it is written: What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” – the things God has prepared for those who love Him – these are the things God has revealed to us by His Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
Are you in doubt as to whether the word of God is true? Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Pray to Him and He will answer you.
Prayer: My Lord and my God, I am Your servant; let it be to me according to Your word in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
