Topic: Benefits of God’s Presence – POWER
Text: Reading: Psalm 114: 1-8
Memory Verse: “Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, who turned the rock into a pool, the hard rock into springs of water. Ps. 114: 7-8 NIV
POWER can be defined as the ability or capacity to do something or act in a particular way. God is the ultimate source of power. All power comes from Him and is subject to Him. As declared in 1 Chronicles 29:11-12, “Yours, LORD is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is Yours. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; You are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honour come from You; You are the ruler of all things. In Your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all”.
God’s inexhaustible power poured forth in the lives of His people is seen in various verses of the scriptures.
The power of God’s presence created a way where there is no way – God’s presence parted both the Red Sea and the River Jordan for the children of Israel to walk on dry ground. (Exod. 14:15-22, Joshua 3:11-17)
The power of God’s presence uproots obstacles and mountains (Psalm 114:4). Mountains cannot survive the presence of God.
The power of God’s presence dissolves rocks into water (Psalm 114:8)
The power of God’s word brings light (Psalm 119:105)
The power of God’s presence changes the way you think (Romans 12:2)
Is there anything you are afraid of? Present all to the Lord and His power will make the difference.
Prayer: Dear Father, fill me to overflowing with your power. I want to abide in Your presence both today and forevermore through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.
