Topic: “GOD’S THOUGHTS, OUR PROSPERITY: STAY WITH GOD (3)“
Text: Psalm 1:1-4
Memory Verse: “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit” Isaiah 55:11.
The word of God is the vehicle that expresses the thoughts of God. In our text for today, God declares that there is blessing and prosperity for the man that delights in the law of the Lord; he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
One of the ways to stay with God is to stay in His word. Another scripture describes the word as the good seed. When we gladly receive, meditate and obey the word of God, it bears fruit in our lives and changes us increasingly into the nature of God. This is a life of love, unparalleled wisdom, dominion, power and victory, because as He is, so He has made us here on earth. He also expects us to do even greater works than He did while on earth.
We cannot do any of these in our strength, power or wisdom. It can only happen by abiding in Him and allowing His word to abide in us daily. There is so much more in God that He has made available for our prosperity in life, but we are not spending enough time with Him and in His word to access these blessings. If you want to prosper and succeed in your walk and work, make a commitment today to stay with God through His word.
PRAYER: Thank you, Lord for your word which shows me the way to prosper. Help me to stay in your word daily in Jesus’ name Amen.
