Topic: “GOD’S THOUGHTS: OUR PROSPERITY- THERE IS SO MUCH MORE“
Text: Isaiah 64:1-5
Memory Verse: “That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him” 1 Cor 2:9.
Yesterday, we ended with the prayer to stay in His word because there is yet so much more for us in God. This is His eternal plan from the beginning, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans that we live in dominion and victory, to be the head and not the tail, to excel in power and to just be glorious in His sight. It is the full package of all round prosperity beyond anything that anyone can imagine or fathom. Does this sound surreal or impossible? Go and ask Isaac, Joseph or Solomon. God did it by Himself and for His glory in their lives.
Today, the fullness of this package is made manifest in His gift of Jesus Christ to us. While the world focusses on the balance sheet as the evidence of their wealth, the Lord gives us the key to eternal treasures that will satisfy every need we have here on earth and thereafter in eternity. He calls us to something much more, an abundant life. So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. The key is Jesus.
PRAYER: O Lord, thank you for the gift of Jesus Christ, the source of everything I need in Jesus’ name, Amen.
