Topic: “GOD’S LOVE IN CREATION”
Text: GENESIS 1:1-31
Memory Verse: Genesis 1:1- “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth… And God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.”
The Bible opens with a very serious business, the task of Creation. It involved all members of the Trinity, productively engaged in ensuring each day’s task was done according to divine plan. This effort brought about amazing creations culminating in the enviable creature called Man: male and female. The story of creation is a profound testament to God’s love. In creating the world, God crafted a beautiful and orderly environment for humanity. Each element of creation, from the sun to the sea creatures, reflects His care and intentionality. The declaration that it was “very good” shows His satisfaction and love for what He made, including us.
God showered His love upon the earth as He rescued it from its state of formlessness, emptiness and darkness in which circumstances had kept it (Genesis 1:2). God’s transformational power came upon the earth and things began to take shape, a beautiful spherical globe (Isaiah 40:22a) came out of formlessness. The emptiness gave way to the emergence of awe-inspiring aquatic and terrestrial creations (Genesis 1:9-31). In addition, the darkness gave way to amazing lights as seen in Genesis 1:3-4, 14-19.
As you go through this devotional right now, I see God’s love and power transforming your life and bringing you out of every formlessness, emptiness and darkness in the name of Jesus. Be it in your marriage, finance, career, health or life generally, the love of God will begin to manifest in your life in a new dimension in the name of Jesus. Therefore, as you go around today and see beautiful people and beautiful things, remember they came out of nothing by divine love. So let that bring you out of depression and give God praises because your testimony is next in line.
PRAYER: Creator God, thank You for the beauty and wonder of Your creation. Help me to see Your love in the world around me and to care for it as a steward of Your work. May I always be mindful of the goodness You have woven into the fabric of the universe in Jesus’ name, Amen.
