Topic: Experiencing the fullness of God through Continuous Prayers 2
Text: Ephesians 1: 15- 17
Memory Verse: “Ephesians 1: 17a I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation……
Paul the Apostle was a very fervent intercessor. His prayers are often for the salvation and spiritual sustenance of those the Lord has put under his care. That is why he could encourage Timothy his protégée in 1Tim. 2:1 that “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” As a believer said Debra Farrington, “If we have our eyes and heart open, there are many who need our prayer each day. Just reading the newspaper or watching the evening news provides ample opportunity for intercessory prayers.”
Like Paul, we have to pray for others. It takes a selfless person to put the needs of others before his own. When we pray for others, we are simply continuing the extension of the ministry of Jesus and we are only being like Him. When we pray for others, there is no greater way to be intimate with others than that, which comes through prayers. As you step out today, take time to look around you, someone may just need your prayers.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you that you showed the way by praying for us, we equally pray today that you will open our eyes and our heart to pray for those you will bring along our path today in Jesus’ name.
