As carriers of the fullness of God, Paul prayed for two things that are required to sustain the fullness of God in our lives. The first is what we discussed yesterday, and that is wisdom. Today we look at the second prayer of Paul. He was praying for revelation. The word revelation as used in the text means the communication of the knowledge of God to the soul. It could also mean an expression of the mind of God for the instruction of the church.
We need this revelation as people who carry the fullness of God. We have to be in a position whereby we can communicate the mind of God to the church and the people around us. Why do we need the revelation? It is so that we can worship God in spirit and truth. Matt Redman said, “Worship is always in response to revelation.” As we journey in our faith, the Lord wants to continually give us revelation of himself and His ways.
As you step out today, desire the revelation of God that will help you to know Him and worship Him more. Whatever will hinder the revelation of God should be put aside. Seek revelation, and let your soul be saturated in the worship of Him.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, you desire to reveal yourself to those who seek you diligently, Lord we submit to your revelation knowledge. Help us to become more and more like you in Jesus’ name.
