SEPTEMBER 11, 2024

Topic:  “Showcasing the power of God in praise”

Text: Luke 17:11-19

Memory Verse: Psalm 92:1 – “It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to your name, O most high”.

A doctor once said, “If thankfulness were a drug, it would be the world’s best-selling product with a health maintenance indication for every major organ system. This shows how powerful the effect of praising God has on our well-being. It is a spiritual activity, which translates to a physical outcome.

The word of God commands that we should give him thanks, God also expects us to show gratitude. He started it way back in creation, everything he created was considered and assessed by him “and it was good”. The more of God that he reveals to his loved ones, the more we should praise and glorify him.

Jesus in the story of the ten lepers was shocked that only one out of the ten that were healed showed appreciation by returning to him to give thanks. The power in praise is what Jesus saw in the one leper that returned. While the nine lepers had physical healing, the tenth one that returned to give thanks had a grateful attitude and a deeper wholeness which impacted his heart – spiritual outcome had taken place.

Praise God for who he is for what he has done and what he will yet do and what he will not allow to happen. Praise God in the good times; praise him in the difficult times. Praise has the power to turn mourning into dancing.

Every good gift is from God, yes, he uses man to bring the gift at times, but ultimately, he is the source of all blessings. Today, activate the power of turnaround that comes from praising God and see him move in your situation.

PRAYER: God, you alone are good and righteous, I praise you for your mighty hands upon me. Thank you for the gift of life and for the many blessings that you keep bringing my way. I know that the more I praise you, the more you will do.
