Topic: HIS SALVATION
Text: Exodus 3:7-10
Memory Verse: “Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel from out of Egypt” Exod 3:10
It is such a fascinating thing to know that “Our God is the God of salvation” as declared by the Psalmist (Psalm 68:20; 98:3). He is always ahead of man in the matter of finding solutions to issues of life. In Jeremiah 3:23, the Bible says, “Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel”. In the same vein, Apostle Peter said in Acts 4:10-12 that salvation is found only in the name of Jesus Christ.
The fall of our first parents brought upon them and generations thereafter the bondage of sin, the penalty of which is death (Ezek 18:3; Rom 2:23). However, God had by himself made provision for everyone to be saved through the redemptive work of Christ Jesus brought into being by grace (Rom 5:8; Eph 1:4).
The burning bush experience that Moses witnessed was for God to get his attention so He can commission him to bring about the salvation of the children of Israel from the yoke of slavery in Egypt. The cry of the Israelites in Egypt was an indication of their misery, frustration, discontent and helplessness. God took the initiative, like He did with Adam, typifying what was to come many years after through Christ Jesus.
Today, we are beneficiaries of the finished work of salvation, by the grace of God (John 1:12; 3:16; Rom 6:23; Eph 2:8-9). The same holds true for everyone who will believe in this saving grace today, because Jesus paid for it all.
As you rejoice in the joy of God’s salvation for your life, what about the others around you? Do something today that could change that person’s life for good, for now is the day of salvation, tomorrow may be too late (2Cor 6:2; Heb 3:8)
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for saving me; may my life reflect this change always, and make others to be drawn to you, in Jesus name. Amen.
